Leadership Training

Experienced church planters are needed to train young believers in Myanmar, a country with less than 1% Christians.

In 2013, Avant sought to establish a ministry in Myanmar. Research soon revealed that even a permanent resident visa holder would be required to leave every two months! In light of finding some national ministry partners, we decided to take facilitative approach.

In October 2014, we hosted a church planting training for nine national believers. Today each of them is engaged in planting one or more churches. They each also have one or more new leaders who they are discipling. To further enable their efforts, we delivered advanced church planning training in May 2015.

The trainings are designed with a two-fold purpose—to help the original group address the challenges they have found in their ministries, and to involve them as we train the newest leaders. Our goal is to enable them to conduct the training for future new groups.

This cycle of training and follow-up coaching is planting the church in Myanmar. Is the Lord calling you to train young believers?
