South Sudan

Avant is seeking individuals for church planting and business opportunities to help reach the nation of South Sudan.
After 25 years of civil war the people of South Sudan are returning to their home country to find nothing. Church planting and business are opportunities to help reach this hurting nation.

Church Planting
South Sudan needs the hope, peace, and the healing of the gospel. Will you join a Short-Cycle Church Planting team made up of national Christians to reach this nation? Short-Cycle Church Planting teams are being trained and developed to reach these people with the gospel. We are looking for missionaries with a variety of gifts and experience to join existing church planting teams, in order to complement and empower the national church planters, whom we call ‘Messengers of Hope’.

Teacher Training
South Sudan is a complicated country, being one of the newest countries on the planet, it lacks resources, infrastructure, and access to education.  As a partner with one of the only existing Christian colleges in the country we are looking for teachers that would be willing to volunteer from 2 weeks to one year at a time.  We are looking for trained teachers with a Masters Degree in education, business, theology, or engineering.  You would be working with a team of nationals and internationals in this area of service.

Program Leadership
Refugees in South Sudan have witnessed incredible violence, fled their homes, and suffered immensely because of lack of food, clean water, and shelter. Many continue to suffer, living in poverty and paralyzed by fear. Serving South Sudan has been empowering the church in South Sudan for the last 12 years.  As we move out into different states, with it’s tribes and peoples, we are looking for someone to be on the ground in South Sudan to mentor, and empower a Sudanese national who could duplicate as a program leader.

Health and Trauma Care
Refugees in South Sudan have witnessed incredible violence, fled their homes, and suffered immensely because of lack of food, clean water, and shelter. Many continue to suffer, living in poverty and paralyzed by fear. In addition, the extremely vulnerable, such as lepers in isolated colonies, suffer without care.

Development Projects
Social economic projects and clean water bring sustainability to a community as a whole. There are opportunities to help empower people in agriculture, small business initiatives, clean water, and more.
