Argentina: Seminary Manuals
This project is now fully funded. Thank you!
According to the World Christian Encyclopedia, more than 75% of all evangelical Christians live in the Global South. As the Church continues to grow and believers desire to live on mission for Him, many are pursuing theological education. Avant partners with several theological seminaries in Latin America to equip pastors and leaders for ministry in their own countries and for global work as missionaries.
As enrollment in seminaries and Bible institutes continues to increase, the need for strong institutional leadership is vital. However, there is very little content written in Spanish for guiding leadership boards in their role of guiding a seminary or Bible Institute. Many board members come from church or business backgrounds and do not realize that seminary leadership is significantly different.
Over the last two years, one of Avant’s missionaries as well as some of our partnering Seminaries, have been working to create a manual that can be used by seminary leadership all over Latin America. The Manual for Seminary Boards is a book of approximately 150 pages. It is composed of 11 essays, written by graduates of the PhD program at SETECA, outlining the responsibilities and challenges of a seminary board member and also granting practical counsel and direction for leading the seminary toward growth. This project will fund the publishing of the manual. We are praying that the necessary funds will be provided in time for digital and paper copies of the manual to be available at the upcoming Association for Evangelical Theological Education (AETE) being held in Guatemala this October. Our hope is that all seminaries and Bible institutes in Latin America will have access to this manual, providing sound direction to their boards so they can help improve the theological education available in Latin America.
