West Asia: Agricultural Co-op
Rural villages in a small country of Western Asia are home to many refugees from surrounding occupied territories and oppressed nations, as well as impoverished local people. The country is an intersection of a diversity of cultures, and like many neighboring countries in this region, people desperately need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
This country of Western Asia is blessed with fertile soil, with 1/3 of the land being used for growing crops. Avant is collaborating with leaders from a local evangelical church who own farms in various rural communities. Their desire is to use their farms as an avenue to spread the gospel and plant churches where there is no church.
The launch of an agricultural co-op, where farm equipment and tools are purchase and shared among church leaders, will make the farms more profitable, give church leaders more time to devote to ministry, and allow them to hire villagers to help work the farms. As contacts are made and relationships are built, the gospel will be shared. Already, a regular Bible study has been started in one village, with 18 people attending! They hope to grow and start new Bible study groups in other villages.
Your investment in this project will help purchase a tractor, a transport vehicle, and other farm implements for the co-op. With your support, spiritual seeds will be planted in the lives of people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.
