Project #11554

Serving Southeast Alaska through Echo Ranch Bible Camp

My journey with God started on the coast of West Africa. My parents were missionaries with Gospel Missionary Union, now known as Avant Ministries. At the age of six I made the most important decision of my life by putting my trust in what Jesus did for me on the cross. Throughout my first 17 years in Africa, I watched God sustain my family through the many hard goodbyes that come with attending boarding school, support raising, coups and then transitioning as a high schooler to the United States.

God continued to sustain me through my four years of college at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. It was in college I was introduced to Echo Ranch Bible Camp. Having never attended camp, God used my first year at Echo Ranch to introduce me to camp ministry. My second year He seemed to focus on evangelism as I got to watch the Holy Spirit bring understanding to several kids that summer. My third summer I realized the importance of discipleship and was given opportunity to come along side campers in their walk with God. It was in my fourth summer at Echo Ranch that felt God really nudging me into full time ministry. Not just giving my summers to ministry but dedicating my life to having a ministry focus.

I joined Avant Ministries in 2008 and moved to Juneau, Alaska that summer to serve year-round at Echo Ranch Bible Camp. God continues to sustain me as I serve as the camp's administrator and retreat coordinator. Psalm 62:1-2 in the NIV says, “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my fortress; I will never be shaken.”
